Major Angela Coonce, a 24-year veteran of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and a champion of community policing, has been appointed chief of police for the Washington University in St. Louis Police Department, announced Shantay Bolton, executive vice chancellor and chief administrative officer. Bolton called Coonce a mission-focused, values-driven and equity-centered leader.

Scot R. Bemis, most recently vice president for human resources and chief human resources officer at Dartmouth College, has been named vice chancellor for human resources and institutional equity at Washington University in St. Louis, announced Shantay Bolton, executive vice chancellor for administration and chief administrative officer.

McClellan will have oversight for parking, resource management, dining services and campus card services, critical areas that touch the daily lives of many members of the university faculty, staff and student communities.

The 2022 sessions were created and organized by students, faculty and staff, and addressed a host of topics, among them campus safety, the differences between equity and equality, campus supplier diversity efforts and the impact of flexible work policies.

Lance Franklin, assistant vice president for environmental health and safety services at Virginia Tech, has been appointed assistant vice chancellor for environmental health and safety at Washington University in St. Louis, effective March 7, announced Shantay Bolton, executive vice chancellor for administration and chief administrative officer.

The St. Louis Anchor Action Network (STLAAN) comprises universities, institutions, businesses, community leaders and other stakeholders committed to reducing inequities through increased employment, health and wealth-building opportunities.

Respondents rated their organizations based on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation equality as well as general diversity.

A St. Louis native, Bolton has nearly two decades of experience in the areas of transformational organizational development, disruptive human resources and operational change management, complemented by savvy business acumen.
